Girl's Academy Development Player League
The Development Player League (DPL) is designed to expand the Girls Development Academy (DA) player pool for participating clubs. The league creates a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring DA players, bridging the gap between club soccer and Development Academy Soccer.
The DPL provides a clear pathway for players who show the potential to make the jump to the DA level of play. The DPL teams will offer players who excel to have the opportunity to be called up as aspiring DA players with more exposure to the DA training model and level of play, while allowing them the time they need to develop as well as offering the flexibility to play high school soccer. Legends FC is proud to be a member of the DPL, and we look forward to the way this league will contribute to the development of our players and club.
Why choose to play Academy DPL for Legends FC?
Our Training Environment
Our Academy II teams follow same training curriculum as our Academy teams (4 days/week: Consisting of three training sessions, two days of Strength Training, one day of Speed Training/Conditioning, one Technical only day, and the opportunity for Video Analysis/Team activities.) We focus on developing the entire pool of players for that age group training and allow players the opportunity to develop and compete for First Team spots.
Player Development Methods
We frequently move players between teams, older teams or up one level, to challenge them. We rotate our staff so every team has a different Academy Coach at least one of the trainings every week. Legends players know all the academy coaches due to our coach rotation, allowing them familiarity with all the coaches. This provides a family environment as well as different voices for improved development.
Highest Quality Coaching Staff
At Legends, we have 5 USSF A License & USSF B License, 1 Pac 12 Coach of the Year, 5 Nike Cal South Coach of the Year Awards, former college coaches, and coaches with experience coaching at US National Camp, US Training Centers, Regional Camp, & ODP.
We have premiere facilities with perfect field conditions, a strength and conditioning facility on site, provide HUDL video services to every player for individual video analysis, and have a partnership with TRACE Artificial Intelligence.
