Head Coach – Brent Whitfield

Brent Whitfield is a Cal State Fullerton product and native of Long Beach. This will be Whitfield’s first season with the LA Legends as he works toward a successful season.

 

Whitfield will bring his diverse soccer experience with him as he prepares for the season before him. Whitfield has served as the assistant coach at Long Beach City College for five seasons now. Before being an assistant coach, he played at Cal State Fullerton. Whitfield’s career didn’t end their.

 

He then played four seasons of professional soccer. He played for the Seattle Sounders (USL). With the Sounders, Whitfield was the second leading scorer and led the team to win the USL Championship in 2005. The following season he played for Chivas USA. His last season in the MLS was spent with Chivas USA and LA Galaxy.

 

Whitfield’s career has been surrounded with success and he plans to continue that here with the LA Legends.

Assistant Coach - Brian Phillips

 

Goal Keeper Coach - Justin Schroeder

Justin Schroeder will be in charge of coaching the goal-keepers this year for the LA Legends men’s team.

Schroeder went to Millikan High School. While playing there, Schroeder set the school record for the most consecutive shut outs with 12 (98-99 Season). 

Schroeder played club soccer for Long Beach United. After playing for Long Beach United and Millikan High School, Schroeder played for the Long Beach State club team. Once again, he managed to be an impact player as he was named the 2002 defensive MVP. That same year, he would lead his team to the ACCS National Championship.

After playing, Schroeder decided to coach. He went on to earn his USSF National D License, and the NSCAA National Diploma.

Schroeder hope that success will continue to follow him as he brings his experience to the LA Legends.
